Habitats in the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park
Diversity and Dynamisn
In the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park, we encounter a colourful mosaic of habitats. Water and land are closely related. Sometimes the transition areas from water to land are sprawling, like in the tidal flats east of the Zingst peninsular. Sometimes the waterline is hidden in wide belts of reeds on the banks of the Bodden. The sea is also in permanent upheaval due to the relocation of huge amounts of sand. Nature's dynamism, largely left to itself, creates a mosaic of special natural spaces in the national park, which are unique in their diversity on the German Baltic Sea coast.
